If you’ve asked me what bills were proposed to stop the economic crisis or why I say Democrats were responsible for it, this video does a pretty good job of summing it up. And will give you far more sources for the info than I have.
Disregard the last 15 seconds or so. I think this video would’ve been enough to speak for itself. But the content is backed up and well sourced.
My biggest issue with blaming the economy on the Dems is that their have been plenty or Republicans in Government from Jimmy Carter to present day who haven’t done shit to regulate the financial sector. No one did it, bottom line.
Alan Greenspan sat their and kept telling us we were growing a great economy that was built out of straw, and built far too high.
you’re making it real hard not to comment.

@Randall Jenkins: Yes. I agree with you. I think there’s equal blame. I’ve been frustrated because most of what I’ve heard is that “it’s the Republicans’ fault” when really it’s the greedy people’s fault, regardless of their political affiliation.
But one thing is for sure, there wasn’t a lot of help from Democrats, which is contrary to the Obama camp’s attacks on to the Republican’s side.
@ryan: I’m not sure that this video said it was all the CRA’s fault, and I’m not saying that either, but it certainly affected it. Take a look at this response conversation. One journalist’s commentary can’t be the end-all of this.
I agree that it can’t, but to me that video looks like its trying and throw all the blame on the democrats and like Randall said, and you agreed… everyone has a portion of the blame for this. Neither Obama nor McCain have really stepped up and admitted that fact, and I keep hearing both of them say we need to stop blaming each other and get this fixed, while they criticize the opposing parties in the same speech.
@Joel: I blame Greenspan pretty heavily. I think if one man could have done a better job (and his job’s focus was much more defined towards preventing these things) it was him. He failed, and a lot of people saw ways to make money.
I’m not sure I’m pissed at everyone who made money, I mean if you can… do it for as long as you are able, cause just like the Patriots, next year you might just be nothing.
@Randall Jenkins: Well that last statement proves you’re not a socialist
. Actually FactCheck.org had a great post today kind of detailing a lot of the areas and administrations that contributed. That post is here.
